It started with a blueberry cup.
As a child, I would share a little of my grandma’s coffee: a 3-in-1 packet, sweet and familiar. Coffee stayed part of everyday life as I grew up.
Then, on a trip to Tokyo with my wife, I tasted an Ethiopian coffee that reminded me of blueberry juice. I watched it being brewed with such care that it felt like an art. That cup changed what I thought coffee could be.
I wanted to bring that sense of discovery home to South Burnaby.
One cup, made with care.
Single V opened its first shop in April 2019. “Single” speaks to the care and craft in each cup. “V” is the shape of a pour-over filter: a simple tool that opens up a world of flavour.
We began roasting in May 2021. After our first shop closed in October 2021, the next chapter took shape around our own coffee. In October 2023, we opened our current Burnaby café and micro-roastery.
Keep finding something new.
Today, we roast single-origin coffee in-house, looking for balance, sweetness and layers of flavour. Our six-coffee selection rotates every three to four months, giving you time to find a favourite and a reason to stay curious.
